Pastor Jon-Michael has been on staff at Halls Ferry Christian Church since 2003. Originally from Oklahoma, he began his education at the United States Air Force Academy. To pursue God’s call for ministry, Jon-Michael left the Academy and enrolled at Ozark Christian College where he attained a Bachelor of Biblical Literature and Bachelor of Theology in 2002. In 2005, he received his Master of Arts from Lincoln Christian Seminary. In 2017, he completed the teacher’s certification program through University of Missouri Saint Louis and was certified as a high school math teacher.
Before coming to Halls Ferry, he served as youth minister at First Christian Church of Stilwell, OK and later, New Testament Christian Church in Keokuk, IA. From 2007 through 2017, he also served as a full-time professor at Saint Louis Christian College teaching Bible and ministry. Along with serving as co-pastor at Halls Ferry, Jon-Michael currently teaches math at Pattonville High School.
He met his wife, Leslie, at Sunset Bible Camp in Mannford, OK. He knew from the moment he saw her, “there is a girl I could marry.” The two have been married since 2001 and have four children Lashae (‘03), Jon-Michael II (‘05), Jadon (‘14) and Leia (‘17).
Pastor Chip and his wife Angie both grew up attending Halls Ferry. They became friends in youth group and answered God’s call to ministry together. They both graduated from St. Louis Christian College and now have three young children (Adelaide, Jubilee, and George).
Chip started on staff in 2012, and feels beyond blessed to serve God as co-pastor in his home congregation and community. He is passionate about preaching and teaching, evangelism, and discipleship.
A large focus of his ministry is directed at developing community youth into Kingdom leaders.
