"Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms." - 1 Peter 4:10

God blesses all disciples with a special place within the body of Christ. Through the person and work of the Holy Spirit, we each have unique gifts and abilities to be utilized laboring in the Lord's harvest field. At Halls Ferry we encourage all of our members to fulfill their calling by living a life of service to others! Below is a list of current and ongoing volunteer opportunities. Contact us or call the church at 314-741-0372 for more information regarding any of the following.

Greeters

We are always looking for volunteers who will make our members and guests feel welcome on a Sunday morning. Besides welcoming people to our service as they enter the building Greeters also help take attendance and make contact with and assist visitors. Greeters typically serve on a month-long rotation.

Communion Preparation

Volunteers are needed to assist with communion tray preparation and clean-up. Volunteers usually serve on a month-long rotation.

Nursery and Beginner church workers

The church is looking for volunteers who are interested in helping with the Sunday morning early education ministry. Volunteers are needed to staff both the nursery (ages 0-2) and beginner church (3-kdg) during both the Sunday School hour and Service hour. Prospective volunteers must complete a background check before beginning to serve in this ministry. Contact Leslie Brown at the church for more information.

God'z Kids volunteers

The children's ministry needs 1-2 individuals with a passion and interest in serving elementary aged children. We are looking someone to serve one Sunday a month during service as an assistant with our God'z Kids ministry. Contact Jon-Michael Brown at the church for more information.

Tutors and Mentors

The outreach ministry is seeking volunteer tutors and mentors who are interested in ministering directly to the youth of our local community. Each year from September-May we host a weekly tutoring program with students from Jury Elementary next door. Tutors work one-on-one with a student and help them in the subjects of math, reading, and writing. Contact Chip Pagel at the church for more information.

Ecumenical Dinner

Halls Ferry partners with several other local congregations to put together a community wide free Thanksgiving meal each year. We are seeking several individuals to join the planning committee, which typicaly meets 1-2 times per month. Contact the church office for more information.
